DJ Jones

Coach D.J. Jones began his coaching career in 1997 at Mayflower High School where he helped lead his team to back to back conference championships in 1999 and 2000 as the defensive coordinator. His teams at Mayflower consistently advanced to state playoffs. 


In 2006, Coach Jones relocated to Bryant High School in Arkansas as the ninth grade offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach. In two seasons, his team went 9-1 and 10-0. He was promoted to the varsity offensive coordinator and helped his teams win four conference championships in five years. In 2010, he was named the 7A Central Offensive Coordinator of the Year. 


After eight years in Bryant, Coach Jones couldn’t turn down the opportunity to coach with a close friend. He returned to Mayflower High as the defensive coordinator and run game coordinator, playing in the state semifinals in 2014.


In 2016, Coach Jones made the move to Bentonville West High School. Coach Jones joined the inaugural staff at Bentonville West and coached linebackers the first two years. In 2018, he was  promoted to offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach. In 2018 and 2019 West teams have made back to back state semifinal appearances.


Coach Jones is married to Dr. Debbie Jones, Superintendent of Bentonville Schools. Together they share five children: Katie, Jenna, Ben, Ashlyn and Braden. Braden is currently a student at Bentonville West High School and a member of the West football team
