Coach Smith has coached since 2014 following a college soccer career at Ouachita Baptist University. Upon graduating with a Bachelor's in Education, He returned to his hometown of Texarkana, TX and began as a head coach at Arkansas High School. In 2016, he made the move to Centerton to begin the boys soccer program at Bentonville West as the assistant coach. Later, in 2021 he was promoted to head coach and has been at the helm of the program since. 

Coach has a United States Soccer Federation 'D' license, United Soccer Coaches Advanced National Goalkeeper diploma, FC Barcelona Level 1 Coach diploma,  amongst other certifications. He was also selected as the West All-Star coach in 2024 for the 6A Conference.
