Bentonville West Wolverines Grabs Lead In Fifth Inning For Victory Over Neosho.
Bentonville West took the lead late and defeated Neosho 6-4 on Friday. The game was tied with Bentonville West batting in the top of the fifth when Hunter Mayes singled off of Galbraith, driving in a run.
Despite falling down by six runs in the seventh inning, Neosho tried to fight back. Neosho scored four runs in the failed comeback on a double by Selig, a single by Cook, and a by Winchester.
Bentonville West scored four runs in the sixth inning. The big inning was thanks to a fielder's choice RBI by Jason Gloeckler, and a double by Zach Trammell.
Neosho scored four runs in the seventh inning. Neosho's big inning was driven by a double by Selig and a single by Cook.
Kendall Thornton earned the win for Bentonville West. He tossed two and a third innings, giving up four runs, four hits, and striking out one. Dakota McDonald recorded the last two outs to earn the save for Bentonville West getting a fly ball and a looking strikeout to end the game. Galbraith took the loss for Neosho. He threw five and a third innings, giving up four runs, four hits, striking out three, and walking one.
Gloeckler started the game for Bentonville West. He went four innings, allowing zero runs, and two hits.
Trammell and Gloeckler each drove in two runs to lead the Bentonville West Wolverines.
