Bentonville West jumped out to an early lead over Gentry and took home a 13-2 victory on Wednesday. Bentonville West scored on a passed ball and a single by Jason Gloeckler in the first inning.
Bentonville West secured the victory thanks to seven runs in the third inning. The big inning was thanks to a stolen base , a single by Hayes Godsey, and a single by Jason Gloeckler.
Gentry captured the lead in the first inning. Gentry scored on a stolen base during P Wright's at bat. Then Wright singled , driving in one.
Bentonville West Wolverines Varsity took the lead for good with three runs in the first inning. In the first Gloeckler singled off of A Smartt, driving in two runs.
Bentonville West scored seven runs in the third inning. Bentonville West scored on a stolen base , a single by Godsey, and a single by Gloeckler.
Will Jarrett earned the win for Bentonville West Wolverines. He went four innings, allowing two runs, three hits, and striking out seven. Smartt took the loss for Gentry (Prairie Grove Tournament). He threw two innings, allowing seven runs, three hits, and striking out five.
Gloeckler went 2-for-2 at the plate as he led the team with three runs batted in. Bentonville West Wolverines Varsity didn't commit a single error in the field. Dylan Carter had the most chances in the field with eight.
