The chilly, damp conditions at the Wolverine Athletic Complex failed to stop Bentonville West's bats Thursday afternoon.

The Lady Wolverines banged out 14 hits and put up crooked numbers in four of the six innings played en route to a 12-2 victory over Springdale Har-Ber in 7A-West Conference play.

"It's like I told them before the game -- don't let the weather and the conditions be an excuse for not coming out and being ready to play," West coach Anthony Cantrell said. "It is what it is, and we needed to get the game in.

"We have three conference games next week and didn't want to start stacking up three and four games in a week. I know the weather wasn't great, but we had the field tarped. We got the field ready, and I was proud of how they responded in the poor conditions."

Jazmine Dodd, Brittany Crowson and Sydney Sneed each had three hits as West (11-2, 3-0) remained unbeaten in league play. Dodd drove in four runs with two doubles and a single, while Crowson had three RBIs and Sneed two more.

The Lady Wolverines, however, trailed 1-0 as Crowson experienced some early wildness in the circle. She walked leadoff batter Brooklyn Morgan, who later scored on a fielder's choice and an error, and the bases were loaded when Cantrell brought in Emma Wood, who held the Lady Wildcats to that lone run.

"Brittany struggled with the conditions a little bit early," Cantrell said. "Emma came in did a great job getting out of that jam in the first inning. You could tell Brittany didn't have it, and that happens in baseball and softball."

Crowson made up for her pitching struggles by driving the go-ahead run when her double scored Dodd, who tied the game when her single drove in Haley Wacaser. Crowson later scored on Alyssa Cordell's sacrifice fly to give West the 3-1 lead.

The Lady Wolverines then add four runs in the second, two in the third and three in the sixth. Sneed ended the game with her third hit, a two-run single that forced the 10-run rule to be enforced.

"They hit the ball well," Har-Ber coach Lynn Lawson said. "Then they put that new pitcher in. She had really good control and managed the game well. We just couldn't match them hit for hit."

Honesty Holt had two hits and drove a run for Har-Ber (5-7, 1-3).

Bentonville High 11, Springdale High 0

Cailey Cochran threw a no-hitter in her second start of the season, and Bentonville added a pair of five-run outbursts to knock off Springdale at J.B. Hunt Park.

Cochran (2-0), a sophomore right-hander, struck out 10 and walked two in a 74-pitch performance.

Tymber Riley started the Lady Tigers' scoring with a three-run double in the first, followed by a double steal and Keelah Griffith. Bentonville (9-0, 4-0), which extended its win streak to 31 games, added five more in the third on a two-run double by Jenna Wildeman and a three-run home run by Haley Cornell, her fourth of the season.

Wildeman finished 4-for-4 and drove in three runs for the Lady Tigers, who will head to Van Buren for a weekend tournament.
