Brittany Crowson hit a two-out, opposite field three-run home run and the Lady Wolverines held off a late charge to claim the 7A-West Conference win at Veterans Park.

Crowson's home run gave West (20-9, 8-3 7A-West ) a 6-1 lead, but Heritage (11-12, 6-5 7A-West) scored three in the bottom of the inning. However, West pitcher Emma Wood got Allyson Fultz to line out to center field to end the game.

Crown and Hallie Wacaser, who added a two-run homer in the first inning, led Bentonville West with three hits each. Lead-off hitter Jazmine Dodd also went 2-for-3 with a walk and scored three runs.

Wood picked up the win allowing four runs (three earned) on nine hits over seven innings. She struck out eight and walked one.

Brittney Dean, Kelsey Hamlin and Lora Brown had two hits each for Heritage. Brown drove in two, while Dean scored twice. Mika Polumbo also contributed a solo home run.
