In Freshmen football last night, West improved to 6-1 with a victory over Lakeside, 36-22. West scored first on 1 yard TD run early in the first quarter. After onside kick from Trey Travis, that was recovered by Josh Poyfair, the Wolverines scored again on a 28 yd TD pass from Luke Allen to Brandon Humes. West lead 12-7 at the half. In the 3rd quarter, Hunter Coggin scored from 64 yards out to make it 20-14 West. Brandon Humes caught a 14 yard TD pass from Allen to make it 28-14 early in the 4th quarter. Victor Onyebuke intercepted a pass and ran it back 54 yards for a TD to close out the scoring. Nick Whitlatch caught the 2pt conversion. West in currently in first place in their side of the conference.
